Maybe Google just decided that they were bored and wanted to add a new feature. These are the type of things that make us smile and enjoy Google. Of course we are talking about the amazing timer feature that can be accessed right from the search tool.

Try The Google Countdown Timer

The timer feature was available for a few days last year and then as fast as it arrived Google took it away. Now it’s back and you can play with it right now by going to Google and typing in one of many simple phrases in the search box. Go try it right now, just type in “set timer for 30 seconds” or “timer 22 hours 33 min 23 sec”. There are tons of variations you can use to get the timer going, if you just search for set timer or timer then Google will default to five minutes.

As with any other Google feature, the timer comes full of options, like an alarm will sound when the timer is done. Of course you can mute the timer if you don’t want anyone around you to hear it. Obviously you can stop or reset the timer and Google has even thrown in a full screen feature. We really like the full screen timer feature.

Google will only allow the timer to be set for 23 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds, so you don’t get to countdown to Friday from Monday. But, who knows with such an awesome feature like the Google timer they might add to it and allow longer timers sometime soon. Are there any other cool tools or features you can think of that Google should add?
