Today, we’re continuing this series with an overview of the top 3 free online learning resources for Marketing Managers.

1. HubSpot’s Inbound Marketing Course

HubSpot, which is the company that introduced the phrase “inbound marketing” into the vocabulary, has an excellent online course that looks at the essentials of inbound marketing methodology and strategy. Key areas that are covered include SEO, blogging, customer journeys, buyer personas, lead nurturing, email marketing, landing pages and more. 

While not designed exclusively for Marketing Managers, the course is nevertheless an effective way to enhance your digital marketing skills. Plus, when you make your way through the course and pass the final exam, you’ll receive a certificate that you can proudly display on your resume, your LinkedIn profile, and so on.

2. University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business Course

In conjunction with Coursera, the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business has a great free online course entitled “Introduction to Marketing”.

Even if you’re an experienced marketing professional, don’t let the “introduction” part fool you – this is a great course that will refresh your understanding of key concepts and strategies, and you’ll likely learn some great new insights as well. Key areas covered by the course include: branding positioning, brand communication, customer-centric marketing strategy, channel strategy, marketing planning, and more. 

In addition, when you’ve finished the course and passed all of the modules, you’ll receive a certificate. If you wish, you can even apply your skills to a unique “real world” business challenge as part of the Wharton Business Foundations Specialization.

3. ALISON’S Diploma in Social Media Marketing

Another excellent free online course is ALISON’s Diploma in Social Media Marketing. This well structured and insightful course covers key social media concepts, including email marketing, autoresponders, offers (e.g. ebooks, Infographics, etc.), blogging, developing a social media strategy, and more.

After completing the course and achieving at least 80% in each of the modules, you’ll get an official ALISON diploma that you can print out and hang on your wall (or take to your next performance review and possibly get a raise!).
